A Night of Courage and Conversation with Rawan Osman at WDS

Westchester Day School was privileged to welcome Rawan Osman last night for an unforgettable conversation on truth, transformation, and advocacy. Introduced by Head of School Rabbi Rockoff, Rawan captivated the audience with her remarkable personal journey—from growing up with deeply ingrained hostility toward Israel and the Jewish people to becoming one of the most courageous pro-Israel voices in the Arab world today.

Rawan shared how living in the Jewish quarter of Strasbourg, France, led her to question the antisemitic narratives she had been taught. Meeting Jewish people for the first time, she was struck by their kindness and humanity, which ultimately led to a profound shift in her perspective.

Since October 7, Rawan has been an outspoken defender of Israel, using her platform to combat misinformation and promote peace. Her message of hope and understanding resonated deeply with the WDS community, reminding us of the power of human connection and the importance of standing up for truth.
