The WDS-GrowTorah Garden

In Loving Memory of Ari Lerner z”l

On the occasion of Ari Lerner’s 10th yahrzeit, Westchester Day School is proud to revitalize and expand the GrowTorah Garden—an initiative that brings Torah to life through nature, hands-on learning, and meaningful mitzvot.

Each spring, our students immerse themselves in the beauty of Hashem’s world—tending to the garden, exploring the lessons of Sefer Bereishit, and embodying core Torah values like chesed, sustainability, and stewardship. From planting and harvesting to donating fresh produce, the garden becomes a living classroom—where learning takes root and souls are nourished.

Thanks to the warmth, vision, and heartfelt commitment of the Lerner family and friends, this treasured space will continue to grow, blossom, and inspire.

Funds raised will support the garden’s ongoing maintenance and the continuation of the GrowTorah curriculum—ensuring its impact for years to come. Additional donations beyond the initial $10,000 goal will help sustain this meaningful program into the future.

We look forward to dedicating the renewed garden in Ari’s memory this June, and welcoming our community to celebrate a lasting tribute—a celebration of life, learning, and legacy.
