Lower Division Admissions

Requirements:

Children must reach their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th birthday by September 30th of the year of entry into our Ganon/ Nursery program.

Children must reach their 5th birthday by September 30th of the year of entry into our Kindergarten program.

All students must be fully immunized based on New York State Requirements. 

Application Process:

Applications must be submitted by January 31st to ensure that a space will be available for your child. After January 31st, applications are accepted on a space-available basis.

A non-refundable application fee of $125 per application is required to process your child’s application. 

As stated in the application, please include a copy of your child’s birth certificate. 

If your child has had any educational and/or psychological evaluations, please upload along with the application.

Required Documents:

Once your child’s application has been submitted, you will receive an email from Westchester Day School confirming receipt of your application, and containing a checklist of next steps. 

If your child is currently in an early childhood program:  

1. Fill out the Records Release Form and submit it to his/her current school.
2. Submit the Preschool Evaluation Form to your child’s current teacher and have it sent directly to our Admissions Office.

You will be contacted about scheduling an informal “playdate” to help us screen your child so that we can best meet their individual needs. Each visit is approximately one hour long.

Acceptance:

After receipt of all requested forms and information and your child’s visit, the Admissions Committee will send a letter with its decision. If your child is accepted, a tuition contract will be mailed to you and must be returned within two weeks.
